I thought I could start with a series of my favorite design pieces I like to work with. I will try to do a weekly blog post about them- just short inspirational ones . Today I will start off with the Kaiser Idell wall lamp from Carl Hansen & Son, designed by Christian Dell. I used it in my latest project to function as a reading light in the media room.
The Kaiser Idell wall lamp has a very elegant and timeless design . It is widely recognised as a symbol of noble Bauhaus design. The lamp is characterised by its slightly asymmetrical shade and world patented, swivel ball-jointed mechanism, which works alongside the scissor arm mechanism to make the shade as easy to adjust as possible .It was launched back in 1936 and due to its adjustability, the lamp is suited for a variety of spaces and purposes from a bedroom reading light to the kitchen or office.
I am so in love with Danish and Scandinavian Design. The simplicity in combination with great function is unbeatable in my opinion.
