Reasons For Your Hideaway In Nature

My lovely followers,

Today I want to write about why I try to connect people with nature and how your own hideaway can be so valuable.

I think it all starts with my personal experience in life. For me, and I believe for many others as well, being in nature has always been relaxing, calming, refreshing and inspiring. Standing on the sea shore, walking through misty woods or lying in the grass under blue sky…all that evokes memories and- all that is stimulating our senses

FIRE. WATER. AIR. LIGHT. EARTH. STONE. WOOD. PLANTS.

For me those are the elements I personally feel comfortable with. I love to have them around me. They remind me of days in the garden when I was little , helping my father sowing seeds…. They remind me of my years being a scout and walking the hills in Scotland, the valleys in Norway and paddling rivers in Sweden… I have a lot of good memories of being in nature and I think I want to create spaces for people, where they can experience the same feeling of tranquility, warmth, solitude, togetherness, belonging, …

We are living in a very noisy and busy world today. Surrounded by multiple digital devices at work and at home and under pressure with juggling huge demands , we are sometimes losing ourselves. We are losing the connection to our soul, our heart, our mind and our values. Having a hideaway and being in nature is a great opportunity to reconnect to these forces. To find and create a special place for you gives you space to experience a period in your life without distraction, without demands. And I truly believe that you have a real opportunity to listen- listen to your heart, your soul,…your dreams, while spending time in a hideaway, This place could of course be your own home, or a room in your house. It can be a garden shed, where you can practice your yoga or listen to music. But I think personally , that the best is to find a different place, away from your home and in nature, where you have the possibility to unplug and recover from the everyday life.

Don’t get me wrong- I am not saying you should only travel to your own hideaway in life. Of course it is so inspirational to see foreign places and experience new cultures. But, often this is also tiring and I realised that people are often complaining about the poorly equipped kitchen in the last self catering cottage, the uncomfortable bed in the 5 star hotel, the loud neighbours on the camping site, the rush of packing and unpacking… Do yourself answer this question: where and when could you relax the most during the last years? Would love to see your answers in the comments.

I personally prefer to have a mix of both. Short, but intense and adventurous trips mixed with longer and recreational stays in my own hideaway. With this combination my curiosity and adventurousness is satisfied- and so is my longing for tranquility , peace, freedom and simplicity.

An individual and bespoke hideaway in nature gives you the opportunity to reconnect to your inner dreams, your inner thoughts, your values, but also to your loved ones.

It is a home- away from home.
